portsmouth, n.h.

My wife and I spent Memorial Day weekend up in Portsmouth, N.H. where we go each year. Its a nice little beach town with amazing restaurants and a ton of small shops. We ate at the Oar House on Friday night on Ceres street which is a place we had never gone before and decided to try. Great food and atmosphere with a stunning view of the Piscataqua river.

After dinner we visited our engagement sight at Prescott Park where the images of the bridge below were taken. One of my top three places to be anywhere; the views are amazing!!

After this we strolled through town with ice cream and watched a street performer hypnotize some girl. It was quite a scene drawing a surprisingly large crowd.

Saturday morning brought us to the Friendly Toast for breakfast before a shopping binge at the Outlet stores in Kittery, Maine. After spending way too much money we hit the beach for a walk and some photo ops.

Our friends Heather and Chuck came up from Boston for dinner on Saturday night which was a nice surprise. We ate and shopped and ate more ice cream before calling it a night.

We got back Sunday and did our 'picnic rounds' at all our family houses before going to see Pirates of the Caribbean: At World's End. Quite a busy weekend for us....but it is going to get busier. Welcome to June, the wedding capital of the world!!!

Recommendation of the Week: Pirates of the Caribbean: At World's End
